WHAT IF THE PARTS OF YOU THAT ARE STRUGGLING HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY?
There are often good reasons for the ways we learn to cope. The patterns that bring us to therapy, whether anxiety, disconnection, overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or feeling constantly on guard, may have developed in response to experiences that were painful, overwhelming, or simply too much to hold. Our adaptations can be remarkably clever ways of helping us feel safe, connected, or in control.
Rather than simply trying to make these patterns go away, I believe there is value in becoming curious about what they are communicating and what they may be protecting you from. Understanding them can create a different relationship with yourself: one with less judgment, and more room for compassion.
Change does not have to come through force or self-criticism. often, with enough safety, understanding, and presence, something can begin to shift, creating more space for choice, connection, and authenticity. Therapy can be a process of getting to know yourself more fully, with compassion for who you have been and curiosity about what might become possible. I look forward to listening and learning alongside you.
